Whitworth’s Canopy Yearbook Vol. 102
2024
During the 2023-2024 school year, I worked as the Head Graphic Designer for Whitworth University’s Canopy yearbook. Under the direction of Canopy’s Editor-in-Chief and Whitworth’s student government officials and guidelines, I designed the 102nd volume of this yearbook publication to the specifications, requirements, and wishes of these working parties. My designs aim to encapsulate both the yearbook theme “Create Your Future” and Whitworth’s mission towards an education of “Mind and Heart.” In addition to the cover and inside spreads, I designed the endpages with a custom and original pattern as well as advertisements for the final publication, such as a poster and stickers.
Made with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Procreate.
The 2023-24 Whitworth Yearbook was printed by Varsity Publishing in Edwardsville, Kansas. The plant representative was Valerie Barson in Logan, Utah. The local Spokane representative was Matt Johnson. The 900 yearbooks were distributed to full-time undergraduate students and additionally sold for $25 each. The trim size was 8.5” x 11”. The bound book was 224 pages total on standard white litho stock. The cover was printed using gloss litho lamination. The endsheets were printed using Vibricolor on VC White VC-01 stock. As a computer-submitted book, the Whitworth Yearbook made use of HP, Macbook, and iPad 8th Generation. Software used included Adobe Creative Suite CC and Procreate.
